Transfer Orders Posting Effect on the General Ledger
Transfer orders are created in Order Entry to create a transfer document to the transfer-to location (transfer-out). On the purchasing side, transfer orders are received into the transfer-to location (transfer-in). The entire process requires general ledger postings for both transfer-out and transfer-in of merchandise.
Example The following illustrates the general ledger posting impact for the transfer order process:

Select the option to post Transfers (by batch or All). Invoice Post will generate a journal of origin "INV" - A/R Inv.

Transfer Receipts: Inventory Receipt Post

Select the period, location, and dates. This process will create a two-part entry. The first will post the receipt of inventory. Posting will generate a journal of origin "PUR"- PO Rcpt.
