Question: How can I print IRS 1099 forms for my suppliers?
Answer: There are two methods of printing 1099 forms. The first method allows you to print 1099-MISC forms directly from Apprise.
Note This method only allows you to print in the Other Income box of a pre-printed 1099-MISC form.
The second method allows you to print any 1099 form, but requires you to have a licensed copy of 1099 Express™. For more information on both methods, see the following sections.
To print 1099-MISC forms in Apprise:
Purchase pre-printed 1099-MISC laser printer forms.
Verify that the 1099-MISC form type is set up in Form 1099 Reporting Box Maintenance with reporting box 3 (Other Income).
Enter 1099 information for your suppliers on the 1099 Information tab in Supplier Maintenance. Verify that the MISC form and reporting box 3 are selected for the suppliers.
Process vouchers and payments as 1099's. The 1099 check box should be selected by default in Voucher Entry if the supplier was set up as a 1099 supplier in step 3.
In Supplier Form 1099 Report, output the report and review the data for the 1099's that you want to print.
In Form 1099 Print, print directly to the pre-printed 1099 laser printer forms you purchased in step 1.
To print 1099 forms in 1099 Express:
Verify that all required 1099 form types are set up in Form 1099 Reporting Box Maintenance.
Enter 1099 information for your suppliers on the 1099 Information tab in Supplier Maintenance. Enter the appropriate form in the 1099 Type field and the appropriate reporting box in the Reporting Box field.
Process vouchers and payments as 1099's. The 1099 check box should be selected by default in Voucher Entry if the supplier was set up as a 1099 supplier in step 2.
In Supplier Form 1099 Report, select the Export to 1099 Express check box, and output the 1099 information to Microsoft Excel.
In 1099 Express, process the Excel file that you exported in step 4, and print the 1099 forms.
