Question: Why are freight charges calculated for a freight-free order?
Answer: The Freight Free check box on the Main tab in Order Entry overrides freight charges normally associated with a selected customer. However, although the check box is on the Main tab, the actual functionality is controlled at the line item level. On the Items tab in Order Entry, there is a Freight Free column for each line item. This column allows you to see whether or not a specific order line item is freight free.
You can use the Freight Free check box for the order to determine the default for new line items on an order. If the check box is selected before new line items are entered, the new line items are marked as freight free. However, this can be changed manually for each line item.
In addition, if you enter an order with the check box cleared on the Main tab, all subsequently entered order lines are not freight free. If you then select the Freight Free check box on the Main tab, the Question dialog box appears, and asks you if you want to change all line items to be freight free. If you click the Yes button, all line items are changed to freight free. If you click the No button, the Freight Free check box on the order remains selected, but previously entered line items are not modified.
