Question: Products for certain orders are appearing on backorder. These products cannot be released even though there is sufficient inventory on-hand. Why is this happening?
Answer: The sufficient quantities on-hand may have been allocated into bins marked as not available. If this is the case, you will not be able to release orders because the backorder release ignores products in these bins.
Question: How can I allocate a product for a sales order?
Answer: There are multiple programs you can use if the inventory is available. Use one of the following programs:
Automatic Backorder Allocate: Release backorders for an entire warehouse.
Product Backorder Allocate: Select a product and select orders to which to release it.
Customer Backorder Allocate: Release a product to a sales order based on the sales representative and customer.
Order Allocation Management: Reallocate products to other sales orders when there is not enough available inventory to satisfy all orders.
