Purpose

Define family price codes.

Overview

Use Family Price Maintenance to group together similar products for quantity break pricing purposes. This grouping is done by assigning a family price code to a price matrix record in Price Book Price Maintenance, Customer Price Maintenance, Product Price Maintenance or Price Book\Product Profit Price Maintenance. For more information, see Price Logic FAQ.

The family price code can be associated with a product on the Pricing tab in Product Maintenance and will subsequently default to any price records created for that product.

Note During line item order entry, family price codes are ignored. When the order is done, click the Re-Price button in the ribbon in Order Entry, and the order is repriced based on family price codes for products entered. Even if the Re-Price button is not clicked, when the order is ultimately entered, the repricing logic is automatically performed.

Example Product A and product B belong to family price code: P-1

Creating Family Price Codes

To create a family price code:

Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter the family price code in the Family Price Code field.
Enter a brief description of the family price code in the Short Description field.
Enter a detailed description of the family price code in the Detailed Description field.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The family price code is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Family Price Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new family price code.
Update	Click this button to edit the selected family price code.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected family price code.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first family price code.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous family price code.
Next	Click this button to display the next family price code.
Last	Click this button to display the last family price code.
