Purpose

Set up and maintain incentive goals.

Overview

Use Incentive Goal Maintenance to view, create, edit, copy, and delete incentive goals.

Creating Incentive Goals

To create an incentive goal:

  1. Click the New button in the ribbon.

  2. Enter a name for the incentive goal in the Incentive Goal Name field.

  3. Select a goal type for the incentive goal.

  4. Enter the date range of the incentive goal in the Start Date and End Date fields.

  5. If you selected a type other than Manual in step 3, click the Lookup button for the U/M field and select a unit of measure for the incentive goal.

  6. Select options for the incentive goal.

  7. Click the OK button in the ribbon. The incentive goal is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Incentive Goal Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Update

Click this button to update the selected incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Copy

Click this button to copy the selected incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, Copy, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, Copy, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Import Tiers

Click this button to display Incentive Goal Sales Representative Tiers Import, which allows you to import sales representative tiers from an external file into an incentive goal you are creating or editing. This button is only available after you click the New or Update button in the ribbon, and if you select a goal type other than Manual.

Show Data

Click this button to display incentive goals based on the selected criteria on the Inquiry tab. This button is only available if you click the Inquiry tab.

First

Click this button to display the first incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Next

Click this button to display the next incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Last

Click this button to display the last incentive goal. This button is only available if a tab other than the Inquiry tab is displayed.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Incentive Goal ID

Enter an existing incentive goal ID, or click the Lookup button to select an existing incentive goal ID. The incentive goal ID is automatically assigned when creating a new incentive goal. Incentive goal ID's have the prefix IG.

Incentive Goal Name

Enter an incentive goal name, or click the Lookup button to select an existing incentive goal name.

Incentive Program ID

Enter an incentive program ID, or click the Lookup button to select an existing incentive program ID. You can use this field as an optional additional method of identifying incentive goals.

Goal Type

Select one of the following goal types:

  • Units - This is used to create a goal of selling a specific quantity of products.

  • Sales - This is used to create a goal of selling a specific monetary amount in the default general ledger currency.

  • Placements - This is used to create a goal of selling products to customers for specific criteria, such as selling to five different customers who have not bought a product in the last year.

  • Manual - This is used to create a miscellaneous goal, which is not based on quantities or amounts, such as setting up a display rack at a retail store. Manual incentive goals are recorded as achieved in Manual Incentive Goal Entry.

Closed

This check box is selected if the incentive goal is closed. Incentive goals are closed in Incentive Calculation.

Start Date

Enter a start date for the incentive goal, or click the drop-down arrow to select a start date.

End Date

Enter an end date for the incentive goal, or click the drop-down arrow to select an end date.

All (Sales Representatives)

Select this check box if the incentive goal is for all sales representatives. This check box is selected by default.

Sales Representative/Sales Team

Select whether the incentive goal is for a specific sales representative or sales team. This radio set is only enabled if the All check box to the left of it is cleared.

Sales Representative

Enter a sales representative for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a sales representative. This field is only available if the Sales Representative radio button is selected, and only enabled if the All check box to the left of it is cleared.

Sales Team

Enter a sales team for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a sales team. This field is only available if the Sales Team radio button is selected.

Type

This field displays the type of sales representative entered in the Sales Representative field. This field is only available if the Sales Representative radio button is selected.

Description (Sales Team)

This field displays the description of the sales team entered in the Sales Team field. This field is only available if the Sales Team radio button is selected.

All (Customers)

Select this check box if the incentive goal is for all customers. This check box is selected by default.

Customer/Customer Incentive Group/Beverage Type

Select whether the incentive goal is for a specific customer, customer incentive group, or beverage type. This radio set is only enabled if the All check box to the left of it is cleared.

Exclude Incentive Group

Enter a customer incentive group to exclude from the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a customer incentive group. This field is only available if the All check box to the left of it is selected.

Customer Code

Enter a customer code for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code. This field is only available if the Customer radio button is selected.

Customer Incentive Group

Enter a customer incentive group for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a customer incentive group. This field is only available if the Customer Incentive Group radio button is selected, and only enabled if the All check box to the left of it is cleared.

Beverage Type

Click the Lookup button to select a beverage type of customers for the incentive goal. This field is only available if the Beverage Type radio button is selected.

Customer Name

Enter a customer name for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name. This field is only available if the Customer radio button is selected.

Description (Customer Incentive Group)

This field display the description of the customer incentive group entered in the Exclude Incentive Group or Customer Incentive Group field. This field is only available if the Customer Incentive Group radio button is selected.

All (Products)

Select this check box if the incentive goal is for all products. This check box is selected by default.

Product/Category/Subcategory/Product Incentive Group

Select whether the incentive goal is for a specific product, product category, product subcategory, or product incentive group. This radio set is only enabled if the All check box to the left of it is cleared.

Product Code

Enter a product code for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a product code. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected, and only enabled if the All check box to the left of it is cleared.

Category

Enter a product category for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a product category. This field is only available if the Category or Subcategory radio button is selected.

Product Incentive Group

Enter a product incentive group for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a product incentive goal. This field is only available if the Product Incentive Group radio button is selected.

Product Name

Enter a product name for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a product name. This field is only available if the Product radio button is selected, and only enabled if the All check box to the left of it is cleared.

Description (Product Incentive Group)

This field displays the description of the product incentive group entered in the Product Incentive Group field. This field is only available if the Product Incentive Group radio button is selected.

Subcategory

Enter a product subcategory for the incentive goal, or click the Lookup button to select a product subcategory. This field is only available if the Subcategory radio button is selected.

U/M

Click the Lookup button to select a unit of measure for the incentive goal. If the Product radio button is selected and a specific product is entered in the Product Code and Product Name fields, the unit of measure must be a sellable unit of measure for the product. This field is only available for units, sales, and placements incentive goals.

Non Manual Tab Fields and Buttons

This tab is only enabled for units, sales, and placements incentive goals.

Field or Button

Description

Per Placement Goal

Select this check box if you want to define a placement for a units or sales incentive goal for a placement-based incentive. This check box is only enabled if the Units or Sales radio button is selected.

EXAMPLE If you want to create an incentive goal of selling 5 units to each new customer (each placement), select this check box. If you only want to create an incentive goal of selling to new customers, you can leave this check box cleared.

Product UDF 4 Placement

Select this check box if each sale of a product with a specific value entered for product user-defined field 4 is considered a separate placement.

This check box is only enabled if the Per Placement Goal check box or Placements radio button is selected.

Note The label for this field can be set up on the User Labels tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance.

Placement Minimum

Enter the minimum amount sold to qualify as a placement for the goal. This field is only enabled if the Per Placement Goal check box or Placements radio button is selected.

Sales/Units

Select whether the placement goal is for sales amounts or units sold. These radio buttons are only enabled if the Per Placement Goal check box or Placements radio button is selected.

Size Constraint

Enter a size constraint for a placement goal. This field is only enabled if the Units radio button to the left of it is selected.

Product UDF 4 Minimum

Enter a minimum number of values for product user-defined field 4 that must be sold for the goal.

Example If product user-defined field 4 is set up for varieties of products, and you want the goal to be that three separate varieties are sold, enter 3 in this field.

This field is only enabled if the Product UDF 4 Placement check box is selected.

Note The label for this field can be set up on the User Labels tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance.

Size Constraint UM

Enter a unit of measure for a size constraint placement goal, or click the Lookup button to select a unit of measure. This field is only enabled if the Units radio button to the left of it is selected.

"Did Not Buy" Qualifier

Select this check box to set a range of dates in which customers must not have bought a product if sales are to be considered placements. This check box is only enabled if the Per Placement Goal check box or Placements radio button is selected.

Date Range from

Enter the first date in a range of dates for the "Did Not Buy" qualifier, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only enabled if the "Did Not Buy" Qualifier check box is selected.

To

Enter the last date in a range of dates for the "Did Not Buy" qualifier, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only enabled if the "Did Not Buy" Qualifier check box is selected.

Click this button to add a size constraint for placements to qualify for the incentive goal. This button is only enabled if the Units radio button to the left of it is selected.

Click this button to remove the selected size constraint in the Sizes grid. This button is only enabled if the Units radio button to the left of it is selected.

Sizes

This grid displays sizes for placements for the incentive goal. Enter a minimum quantity for each size.

Sales Representatives

Select one of the following options:

  • Sales Representative Specific - The incentive goal is met by custom units, sales, or placements for each sales representative.

  • Not Sales Representative Specific - The incentive goal is met by the same units, sales, or placements for every sales representative.

  • All Sales Representatives - The incentive goal is met by the total units, sales, or placements for all sales representatives.

Number of tiers

Enter the number of tiers for the incentive goal. You can have up to 10 tiers for each incentive goal.

Tiers

This grid displays tiers and units, sales, or placements for each tier of the incentive goal. You can enter the units, sales, or placements for each tier. If the Sales Representative Specific radio button is selected, you can enter separate units, sales, or placements for each sales representative.

Manual Tab Fields and Buttons

This tab is only enabled for manual incentive goals.

Field or Button

Description

Enter a description of the incentive goal, including the tasks a sales representative must perform to accomplish the goal.

Aggregate

Enter the number of times the incentive goal can be achieved, or leave 0 in this field if you do not want to set a limit. This must be greater than the values in the Per Sales Representative, Per Customer, and Per Product fields.

Per Sales Representative

Enter the number of times the incentive goal can be achieved by each sales representative, or leave 0 in this field if you do not want to set a limit.

Per Customer

Enter the number of times the incentive goal can be achieved for each customer, or leave 0 in this field if you do not want to set a limit.

Per Product

Enter the number of times the incentive goal can be achieved for each product, or leave 0 in this field if you do not want to set a limit.

Enter a detailed description of the incentive goal.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is disabled if you are creating, editing, copying, or deleting an incentive goal.

Status

Select whether to display open incentive goals, closed incentive goals, or both open and closed incentive goals.

Date

Enter a date on which incentive goals ended for which you want to display closed incentive goals, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. You can leave this field blank to display all closed incentive goals. This field is only enabled if you select the Closed radio button.

Goals

This grid displays incentive goals after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click an incentive goal to select it and display information for it on the Non Manual or Manual tab.
