Label Break

A label break is a label that breaks the continuity of a set of labels before beginning another set of labels. For example, the label break label indicates that a set of tracking labels for a certain product ends at that point in the roll of printed labels, and also that another set of tracking labels for the next product begins after that point.

Tracking label 2 for XXX

Tracking label 3 for XXX

The Label Break label is used when confirming multiple single-single pick demands with different items in Batch Pick Demand Confirm. Tracking labels or shipping labels are sorted by Product Name and Pick Demand Number. The label break labels will be inserted to reference the product.

EXAMPLE 2 A user is batch confirming pick demands for 30 single-single orders. The first 10 orders are for product A, the second 10 orders are for product B, the third 5 orders are for product C, and the fourth 5 orders are for product D. You can create a label break format that informs the user when the labels will change from product A to product B, from product B to product C, and so on.

To use label breaks, first create a label definition in External Interface Maintenance, and then enter the Label Break Format on the Network tab in Location Maintenance. This format is used for label breaks inserted between different products for tracking labels and shipping labels.

NOTE Currently, only the tracking labels generated by the ProShip and UPS Cloud shipper interfaces can have label break labels inserted.
