Purpose

Confirm issued materials.

Overview

Use Material Confirm to confirm materials issued in Material Issue as part of the manufacturing process. When you confirm materials, you can specify the bin from which component products are picked and the quantity of the products picked. You can also select to adjust component inventory during the material confirmation, or you can adjust inventory later in Material Inventory Adjust. For more information on work order processing, see Work Order Process Flows.

Note If you want to confirm a batch of material issues, use Material Issue Batch Confirm.

Confirming Materials

To confirm materials:

  1. Enter the location prefix or name in which you want to confirm materials in the Location field.

  2. Enter the work order for which you want to confirm materials in the Work Order field.

  3. Enter an operation or operation sequence number for which you want to confirm materials in the Operation or Sequence field. If you want to confirm materials for all operations for the selected work order, select the All Operations check box.

  4. Enter the date of the confirmation in the Confirmation Date field.

  5. If you want to confirm the recommended quantities of all materials are taken from the recommended bins, click the As Is button in the ribbon, and skip to step 8.

  6. Select a component product, and click the Pick button in the ribbon. The Material Confirm Product Selection window appears. Enter the quantity picked and the bin from which the product is picked, and then click the Enter button. Click the OK button in the ribbon.

  7. Repeat step 6 for all component products for the operation(s) for which you are confirming materials.

  8. If you want to adjust inventory at the same time as the material confirmation, select the Adjust Inventory check box.

  9. Click the OK button in the ribbon to confirm materials. The materials are confirmed.

Exit

Click this button to close the Material Confirm window.

OK

Click this button to confirm the material issue with or without any adjustments you have made. If you select the Adjust Inventory check box, the inventory is also adjusted for the bins.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel confirmation of the material issue. Canceling will undo any adjustments you have entered.

As Is

Click this button to mark all line items as confirmed based on the recommended quantity and bin on the work order.

Pick

Click this button to display Material Confirm Product Selection, which allows you to manually make any adjustments to the selected line. This includes the quantity issued, unit of measure, and bin.

Field or Button

Description

Location

Enter a location prefix or code for which to confirm a material issue, or click one of the Lookup buttons to select a location prefix or name. This field defaults to the default location entered for your user ID in User Extended Options

Adjust Inventory

Select this check box to adjust inventory for the material issue when you confirm it. You can also manually adjust inventory in Material Inventory Adjust. This check box is selected by default if the Automatically Adjust Material check box is selected for the location in Location Maintenance.

Work Order

Enter a work order number for which to confirm a material issue, or click the Lookup button to select a work order.

Sequence

Enter an operation sequence number for which to confirm a material issue, or click the Lookup button to select a sequence number.

Confirmation Date

Enter the confirmation date, or click the drop-down arrow to select the date. This field defaults to today's date, or if materials were previously confirmed for a selected operation, the previously used confirmation date. This field is only available after you enter a work order number in the Work Order field.

Operation

Enter an operation code or name for which to confirm a material issue, or click the Lookup button to select an operation code or name.

Products

This grid displays component product information for the selected operation(s) for which you are confirming material issues. Double-click a product to display Material Confirm Product Selection, which allows you to manually make any adjustments to the selected line.
