Business Intelligence (legacy) Overview

Data for the Business Intelligence (legacy) module should be updated for each report daily, so that you can keep up-to-date on the latest trends in your business.

To update each report:

Generate the appropriate export file(s) in Business Intelligence Export (legacy) (see the table below). The extract file contains the statistical data for your company.
In PowerPlay Transformer, open the appropriate model (.mdl) file (see the table below).
Generate the PowerPlay data cube (.mdc) file. For information on generating PowerPlay data cubes, see the PowerPlay documentation.
In PowerPlay, organize and save the report (.ppx) file. Be sure to use the appropriate file name (see the table below).

Note MDC and PPX files should be stored in the folder entered in the Default BI File Location field in System ID Maintenance.

Note You can select extract program names in the Export Program Name field in Business Intelligence Export (legacy) that are set up as BI type external interface records in External Interface Maintenance. The extract program names in the above tables are used by default.
