Purpose

Manage pallets for a bill of lading.

Overview

Use Planned Bill of Lading by Pallet Maintenance to determine what orders, products, and quantities are placed on pallets.

Note Advanced packaging must be turned on in Customer Service Control Maintenance to add packages to pallets.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Planned Bill of Lading by Pallet Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new child bill of lading.

Update

Click this button to update the selected child bill of lading.

Show Data

Click this button to display information on the Results tab, based on the selected criteria on the Select tab.

Create Pallet

Click this button to create a pallet for a selected order.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New or Update button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New or Update button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first child bill of lading.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous child bill of lading.

Next

Click this button to display the next child bill of lading.

Last

Click this button to display the last child bill of lading.

Pallet Maintenance

Click this button to display Pallet Maintenance, which allows you to view, create, edit, and delete pallets.

Field or Button

Description

Bill of Lading Number

Enter a child bill of lading number, or click the Lookup button to select a child bill of lading number. This is a unique identifying number associated with a specific shipment on a delivery truck or common carrier. It is created automatically when creating a new bill of lading.

Note The GS1 standard is used to create a 17 digit number, by combining the UCC Manufacturing Number with a sequential number and then a calculated check digit.

Shipping Location

Enter the location prefix for the shipping warehouse, or click the Lookup button to select a location prefix. This defaults from the default shipping location entered for your user ID in User Extended Options.

Note A bill of lading number can only be used for one shipping location.

Name (Shipping Location)

Enter the location name for the shipping warehouse, or click the Lookup button to select a location name. This defaults from the default shipping location entered for your user ID in User Extended Options.

Note A bill of lading number can only be used for one shipping location.

Sort by

Select whether to sort orders by customer code, billing customer code, trade ID/distribution center ID, or transfer orders.

Note You cannot include both customer orders and transfer orders on the same bill of lading.

All Customers

Select this check box to display orders for all customers. This check box is selected by default, and is only available if you select the Customer Code radio button.

All Billing Customers

Select this check box to display orders for all billing customers. This check box is selected by default, and is only available if you select the Billing Customer Code radio button.

All DCs

Select this check box to display orders for all distribution centers. This check box is selected by default, and is only available if you select the Trade ID/Distribution Center radio button.

All Locations

Select this check box to display orders for all locations. This check box is selected by default, and is only available if you select the Transfer Orders radio button.

Customer Code/Billing Customer Code

Enter a customer code for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Customers or All Billing Customers check box.

Name (Customer/Billing Customer)

Enter a customer name for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Customers or All Billing Customers check box.

Trade ID

Enter a trade ID for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a trade ID. This field is only available if you select the Trade ID/Distribution Center radio button.

Trade ID Name

Enter a trade ID name for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a trade ID name. This field is only available if you select the Trade ID/Distribution Center radio button.

Distribution Center ID

Enter a distribution center ID for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a distribution center ID. This field is only enabled if you clear the All DCs check box.

Name (Distribution Center)

Enter a distribution center name for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a distribution center name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All DCs check box.

Shipping Location

Enter a shipping location prefix for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location prefix. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Locations check box.

Name (Shipping Location)

Enter a shipping location name for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a shipping location name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Locations check box.

All Shippers

Select this check box to display orders for all shippers. This check box is selected by default.

Shipper

Enter a shipper ID for which to display orders, or click the Lookup button to select a shipper. This field is only enabled if you clear the All Shippers check box.

Position to

Select whether to use an order number or customer purchase order number to select an order to display at the top of the Available Orders grid on the Results tab. These radio buttons are only available if you select the Customer Code, Billing Customer Code, or Trade ID/Distribution Center radio button.

Order Number/Customer Purchase Order

Enter an order number or customer purchase order number to display the order at the top of the Available Orders grid on the Results tab.

Results Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Available Orders

This grid displays orders based on the criteria selected on the Select tab.

Add Order(s)

Click this button to add the order selected in the Available Orders grid to the bill of lading. When you click this button, the order lines are moved to the Selected Lines grid.

Add All Orders

Click this button to add all orders in the Available Orders grid to the bill of lading. When you click this button, the orders are moved to the Selected Lines grid.

Add Line(s)

Click this button to add the order line selected in the Available Lines grid to the selected bill of lading. When you click this button, the order line is moved to the Selected Lines grid.

Remove Line(s)

Click this button to remove the order line selected in the Selected Lines grid from the bill of lading. When you click this button, the order line is removed from the Selected Lines grid.

Available Lines

This grid displays order lines for the order selected in the Available Orders grid.

Selected Lines

This grid displays order lines for the selected bill of lading.

Pallets

This field displays the total number of pallets for the selected bill of lading.

Weight (Bill of Lading)

This field displays the total weight for the selected bill of lading.

Cube (Bill of Lading)

This field displays the total volume for the selected bill of lading.

Release Date

Enter the bill of lading release date, or click the drop-down arrow to select a release date.

Pieces

This field displays the number of pieces on the pallet.

Weight (Pallet)

This field displays the total weight for the pallet.

Cube (Pallet)

This field displays the total volume of the pallet.
