Purpose

Set up and maintain scorecard profit categories and subcategories.

Overview

Use Scorecard Profit Category Maintenance to create, edit, and delete scorecard profit categories and subcategories. You can use scorecard profit categories and subcategories to display subsets of data in inquiry and analysis windows.

You can also set up the order that scorecard profit subcategories appear in Scorecard Management Analysis and Scorecard Analysis. To change the display order of scorecard profit categories, use Scorecard Profit Category Organization.

Creating Scorecard Profit Categories and Subcategories

To create a scorecard profit category (and optional subcategories):

Select the profit type for which you are creating a scorecard profit category (customer, product, or supplier).
Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter a unique scorecard profit category code in the Profit Category Code field.
Enter a name for the scorecard profit category in the Name field.
Enter a display order value in the Display Sequence field. The category with the lowest value displays first during profit scorecard analysis.
Select a profit category type. If you want to create subcategories for the category, continue to the next step. If you do not want to create subcategories, skip to step 14.
Click the Subcategory tab.
Enter a unique scorecard profit subcategory code in the Subcategory Code field.
Enter a name for the subcategory in the Name field.
Enter a display order value in the Display Sequence field.
Select a profit subcategory type.
Click the Enter button. The subcategory is entered in the Subcategories grid.
Repeat steps 8 to 12 to create any additional subcategories as needed. You can use the up and down arrows to reorder the subcategory display order.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The scorecard profit category is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Scorecard Profit Category Maintenance window. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
New	Click this button to create a new scorecard profit category or subcategory. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
Update	Click this button to update the selected scorecard profit category or subcategory. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected scorecard profit category or subcategory. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first scorecard profit category (the category with the lowest display sequence value) for the selected profit type. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous scorecard profit category (the category with the next lowest display sequence value) for the selected profit type. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
Next	Click this button to display the next scorecard profit category (the category with the next highest display sequence value) for the selected profit type. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
Last	Click this button to display the last scorecard profit category (the category with the highest display sequence value) for the selected profit type. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.
Category Organization	Click this button to display Scorecard Profit Category Organization, which allows you to change the display order of scorecard profit categories. This button is only available if you are not creating, updating, or deleting a scorecard profit category.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Profit Type	Select whether to view, create, edit, or delete scorecard profit categories and subcategories for customers, products, or suppliers.
Profit Category Code	Enter a scorecard profit category code, or click the Lookup button to select an existing scorecard profit category code. Note You can update the profit category code of an existing code.
Name (Profit Category)	Enter a name for the scorecard profit category, or click the Lookup button to select an existing scorecard profit category name.

Description

Display Sequence

Enter a display sequence for the scorecard profit category. The lower the value, the higher the scorecard profit category appears when performing profitability analysis. This defaults to the next highest display order value.

Profit Category Type

Click the Lookup button to select the scorecard profit category type. Select Revenue if you want to include amounts for the category in the scorecard revenue amount displayed in Scorecard Management Analysis and Scorecard Analysis.

Note You can also select a profit type for specific subcategories in the category.

Subcategory Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Profit Subcategory Code	Enter a scorecard profit subcategory code, or click the Lookup button to select an existing scorecard profit subcategory code.
Name (Profit Subcategory)	Enter a name for the scorecard profit subcategory, or click the Lookup button to select an existing scorecard profit subcategory name.
Enter	Click this button to add the scorecard profit subcategory to the selected scorecard profit category.
Display Sequence	Enter a display sequence for the scorecard profit subcategory. Lower numbers are displayed first.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel the entry of a scorecard profit subcategory. When you click this button, the Profit Subcategory Code and Name fields are cleared.
Profit Subcategory Type	Click the Lookup button to select the scorecard profit subcategory type. Select Revenue if you want to include amounts for the subcategory in the scorecard revenue amount displayed in Scorecard Management Analysis and Scorecard Analysis.
Subcategories	This grid displays scorecard profit subcategories (and the display order of the subcategories) for the selected scorecard profit category. Double-click a subcategory to edit it.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected scorecard profit subcategory in the Subcategories grid.
	Click this button to move the selected scorecard profit subcategory up one row in the Subcategories grid (and one position up in the display order).
	Click this button to move the selected scorecard profit subcategory down one row in the Subcategories grid (and one position down in the display order).
