Purpose

Set up shared addresses.

Overview

Use Shared Address Maintenance to set up shared ship-to addresses and bill of lading third-party addresses. You can use shared ship-to addresses as ship-to addresses for sales orders from multiple customers. You can use bill of lading third-party addresses for bills of lading that use third-party freight terms.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Shared Address Maintenance window.

New

Click this button to create a new shared address.

Update

Click this button to update the selected shared address.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected shared address.

OK

Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.

First

Click this button to display the first shared address.

Prev

Click this button to display the previous shared address.

Next

Click this button to display the next shared address.

Last

Click this button to display the last shared address.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Address Type

Click the Lookup button and select one of the following address types:

  • BOL 3rd Party - Used for third-party billing during bill of lading processing if you select 3rd Party in the Freight Charge Terms field in Bill of Lading Process.

  • Customer Shared - Used for sales orders to addresses used by multiple customers.

Name

Enter a name for the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select an existing shared address.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Address 1

Enter the first line of the street address for the shared address.

Address 2

Enter the second line of the street address for the shared address.

Address 3

Enter the third line of the street address for the shared address.

City

Enter the city for the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select a city. For information on setting up cities, see Postal Code Maintenance. This field can default from the postal code if the postal code is set up in Postal Code Maintenance.

State/Province

Enter the state or province for the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select a state or province. This field can default from the postal code if the postal code is set up in Postal Code Maintenance. This field’s label can be set up in Country Maintenance.

Postal Code

Enter the postal code of the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select a postal code. If you set up the postal code in Postal Code Maintenance, the City, Country, and State/Province fields are automatically populated when you enter the postal code.

Country

Enter the country for the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select a country. The country controls the format and/or validation of the postal code, the format of the phone fields, and the label for the State/Province field. For information on setting up countries, see Country Maintenance.

County

Enter the county for the shared address.

Phone

Enter the telephone number of the shared address. The format of the telephone number is set up in Country Maintenance.

Fax

Enter the fax number of the shared address. The format of the fax number is set up in Country Maintenance. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

Email

Enter the main email address for the shared address. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

Shipping Account ID

Enter the account number to charge for delivery to the shared address if you are using an external shipping interface. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

Store ID

Enter the store ID for the shared address. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

EDI Address

Enter the EDI shipping address code supplied by the customer on an EDI 850 transaction (incoming purchase order) for the shared address. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

Shipper ID

Enter the preferred shipper ID for the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select the shipper ID. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

Freight Collection

Enter the freight collection terms code for the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select the freight collection terms code. For information on setting up freight collection terms codes, see Freight Collection Terms Maintenance. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

Tax Jurisdiction

Enter a valid tax jurisdiction for the shared address, or click the Lookup button to select a tax jurisdiction. You must enter a tax jurisdiction if it is required for the country for the address.

This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

NOTE When the system uses AvaTax interface, the value for this field is automatically set to None.

FOB

Enter the default FOB (Freight On Board) used during sales order entry for the shared address. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

Tax Exempt

Select this check box if this shared address is always tax-exempt for all products shipped to it. This check box is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option.

State/Province Tax Exempt #

If the shared address is always exempt from state/province tax for all products shipped to it, enter the state/province tax exemption number. This field is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option. Also, this field is only enabled if you select the Tax Exempt check box.

Entity Use Code

Enter a custom code to indicate the type of tax exemption or click the Lookup button to select a standard code from the list. This check box is only available if you select Customer Shared for the Address Type option. Also, this field is only enabled when AvaTax interface is used and if you select the Tax Exempt check box.
