System ID Profile Cross References

Menu Path: System Administration Images\bluerarw.gif Module Setup Images\bluerarw.gif System ID Profile Cross References

Purpose

Maintain connection profile cross references for system ID's.

Overview

Use System ID Profile Cross References to set up a list of connection profile cross references to use when a user opens a window for a system ID other than the system ID into which the user is logged in. This allows you to control which application server is used to connect to the database.

Example You typically connect to system ID A using connection profile X. At certain times, you need to connect to system ID B using connection profile Y. You can set up a cross reference that indicates if you are using connection profile X and opening a window for system ID B, use connection profile Y to connect to the database.

Creating Cross References

To create cross references:

  1. Click the Update button in the ribbon.

  2. Enter a source connection profile in the Source Profile field.

  3. If you want to set up a cross reference for a specific system ID, clear the All check box, and enter the system ID in the Destination System ID field.

  4. Enter a destination connection profile in the Destination Profile field.

  5. Click the Add button.

  6. Repeat steps 2-5 if you want to set up additional cross references.

Note You can only set up one cross reference per combination of source connection profile and system ID.

  1. Click the OK button in the ribbon. The connection profile cross references are updated.
