Purpose

Finalize bills of lading.

Overview

Use Bill of Lading Complete to complete the bill of lading process. You can complete a master bill of lading to quickly complete a large number of bills of lading. For more information on master bills of lading, see Master Bill of Lading.

You cannot complete a bill of lading until you process it in Bill of Lading Process.

$Images\warning.gif$ Do not complete a bill of lading until the truck has left your premises because when you complete it you automatically perform inventory adjustment on all pick demands associated with the bill of lading, send the EDI 856 (ASN), and create invoices (if set up to do that). Be completely sure before you proceed with this final step.

Completing a Bill of Lading

To complete a bill of lading:

Enter the bill of lading number in the Bill of Lading Number field.
Click the Complete Bill of Lading button in the ribbon.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Bill of Lading Complete window.
Complete Bill of Lading	Click this button to complete the selected bill of lading.

Ribbon Batch Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Select	Click this button to display Select a New Batch, which allows you to select a previously created batch.
Open	Click this button to display Open a New Batch, which allows you to create a new batch.
Close	Click this button to display Close A Batch, which allows you to close a batch.
Edit	Click this button to display Edit A Batch, which allows you to edit an existing batch.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Bill of Lading Number	Enter a master bill of lading number, or click the Lookup button to select a master bill of lading number. If you enter or select a child bill of lading number, it is replaced by the master bill of lading number associated with the child bill of lading.
Shipping Location	This field displays the shipping location prefix for the selected bill of lading.
Name	This field displays the shipping location name for the selected bill of lading.
Customer Code	This field displays the customer code for the selected bill of lading.
Name	This field displays the customer name for the selected bill of lading.
Shipper ID	This field displays the shipper ID for the selected bill of lading.
Batch #	This field displays the open invoice batch if one is open. You can use the Select, Open, Edit, and Close buttons on the Batch tab in the ribbon to work with batches.
Master BOL/Child BOL	Select whether to view child bills of lading or packages for the selected bill of lading.
Child BOL's/Packages	This grid displays either the child bills of lading for a master bill of lading or the packages for a bill of lading. The displayed information depends on whether you selected Master BOL or Child BOL.
