EDI Mapper

Menu Path: Electronic Data Interchange Images\bluerarw.gif EDI Mapper

Purpose

Create and maintain EDI maps.

Overview

Use EDI Mapper to set up EDI maps that indicate how data in Apprise should be imported or exported for EDI documents. Your maps should be created based on the requirements of your trading partner's specifications. For more information on setting up maps, see Using EDI Mapper.

NOTE When you save a map, a .p file is created in the folder specified in the ETM Maps Directory field in EDI Control Maintenance. This file is named with the following naming convention: Standard-Version-Transaction-Map.p. This file is a standard Progress program file. The .p file is then compiled and checked for syntax errors. If there are no errors, a .r file is created using the same naming convention as the .p file, and stored in your database. At this time, if you are not using Debug mode, the .p file is deleted. During translation, the software checks for a .r file, but can run a .p file if a .r file is not available.
