Laydown Bin FAQ

Question: Where does the laydown bin default from?

Answer: The software looks for a laydown bin in the following sequential order.

Sequence

Where

1

Planned Bill of Lading Management Default Package Laydown Bin field - If a bin is selected here, all products picked for this bill of lading will end up at this laydown bin.

Note Select a laydown bin here if you want all products for a bill of lading in the same laydown bin. You must select this before creating pick demands.

2

Pick Demand Create and Print Package Laydown Bin field - When creating a pick demand, the laydown bin comes from the bill of lading unless selected here. If selected here, then the first bin used as a laydown bin from this pick demand is used by rest of the products on this pick demand.

Note Select a laydown bin here if you want all products for a pick demand (or group of pick demands) in the same laydown bin

3

User Extended Options Bin Name field in the Package Laydown Bin section on the Warehouse tab - If a laydown bin cannot be found on a bill of lading or a pick demand, then this laydown bin is used.

4

Zone Maintenance Laydown Bin field - If a laydown bin cannot be found on a bill of lading, a pick demand or a user, then this laydown bin is used.

5

Location Maintenance Package Laydown Bin field - If a laydown bin cannot be found on a bill of lading, a pick demand, a user or a zone, then this laydown bin is used.

Note If no laydown bin is found from the above sequence, then the product still shows up in the pick bin (even though physically it may have already left the pick bin). The Inventory Adjustment process ultimately will remove it from the bin (pick bin or laydown bin).

Note After the first item on a pick demand has been placed in a laydown bin, all subsequent items for that pick demand must be put in the same laydown bin.
