Purpose

Manage workflows for product lifecycle management data entry.

Overview

Use Lifecycle Data Entry Management to manage assigned product lifecycle management workflows for which data entry needs to be performed. You can select a workflow for which you want to enter data. You can also export data entry spreadsheets for workflows, and then import data for the workflow back into the system using Lifecycle Data Export and Lifecycle Entry Import.

Managing Workflows

To manage workflows:

  1. Select the status of the workflows you want to view.

  2. Enter a workflow type for which you want to view workflows in the Workflow Type field.

  3. If you want to view workflows for specific workflow levels, clear the All check box to the left of the Workflow Level field, and then enter a workflow level in the Workflow Level field. You can also click the List button to select multiple workflow levels for the workflow type you selected in step 2.

  4. If you want to view workflows for specific product lifecycle management teams, clear the All check box to the left of the Team field, and then enter a team in the Team field. You can also click the List button to select multiple teams.

  5. If you want to view workflows for a specific reference number, such as a product code, clear the All check box to the left of the Reference Number field, and then enter the reference number in the Reference Number field.

  6. Click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Workflows that meet the selected criteria appear in the Workflows grid. You can also click the Attachments and Notes buttons in the ribbon to view attachments and notes for a workflow.

Exit

Click this button to close the Lifecycle Data Entry Management window.

Delete

Click this button to delete the selected workflow.

Show Data

Click this button to display workflows based on the selected criteria.

Attachments

Click this button to display Attachment Entry, which allows you to view attachments for a selected workflow.

Notes

Click this button to display Notes Entry, which allows you to view notes for a selected workflow.

On Hold

Click this button to indicate the selected workflow is on hold. This button is only available if the selected workflow is not on hold or abandoned.

Abandoned

Click this button to indicate the selected workflow is abandoned. This button is only available if the selected workflow is not abandoned.

Remove On Hold

Click this button to indicate the selected workflow is no longer on hold. This button is only available if the selected workflow is on hold.

Remove Abandoned

Click this button to indicate the selected workflow is no longer abandoned. This button is only available if the selected workflow is abandoned.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button

Description

Status

Select a status for which to display workflows.

Workflow Type

Enter a workflow type for which to display workflows, or click the Lookup button to select a workflow type.

All (Workflow Levels)

Select this check box to display workflows for all workflow levels. This check box is selected by default.

Workflow Level

Enter a workflow level for which to display workflows, or click the Lookup button to select a workflow level. This field is only enabled if you clear the All (Workflow Levels) check box.

List (Workflow Levels)

Click this button to display Lifecycle Level List, which allows you to select workflow levels for which to display workflows. After you select workflow levels, the check box to the right of this button is selected. This button is only available if you clear the All (Workflow Levels) check box.

All (Product Lifecycle Management Teams)

Select this check box to display workflows assigned to all product lifecycle management teams. This check box is selected by default.

Team

Enter a product lifecycle management team for which to display workflows, or click the Lookup button to select a team. This field is only enabled if you clear the All (Product Lifecycle Management Teams) check box.

Name

Enter a product lifecycle management team name for which to display workflows, or click the Lookup button to select a team name. This field is only enabled if you clear the All (Product Lifecycle Management Teams) check box.

List (Product Lifecycle Management Teams)

Click this button to display Lifecycle Team List, which allows you to select product lifecycle management teams for which to display workflows. After you select teams, the check box to the right of this button is selected. This button is only enabled if you clear the All (Product Lifecycle Management Teams) check box.

All (Reference Numbers)

Select this check box to display workflows for all reference numbers. This check box is selected by default.

Reference Number

Enter a reference number for which to display workflows, or click the Lookup button to select a reference number. This field is only enabled if you clear the All (Reference Numbers) check box.

Workflows

This grid displays workflow information based on the selected criteria after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Additional columns appear in this grid for tasks for which the Data Entry Column check box is selected in Lifecycle Task Maintenance.

Double-click a workflow to display Lifecycle Data Entry, which allows you to perform data entry for the workflow.
