Purpose

Set up and maintain market groups and market segments.

Overview

Use Market Group and Segment Maintenance to create, edit, and delete market groups and market segments. You can also import market groups/segments in Market Group and Segment Import.

Creating Market Groups and Market Segments

To create a market group and the market segments in the group:

Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter the name of the market group in the Market Group field.
Enter a description of the market group in the Description field.
For each market segment in the market group, enter the market segment name in the Market Segment field, and click the Add button.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The market group is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Market Group and Segment Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new market group. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Update	Click this button to update the selected market group. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected market group. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed. Note You cannot delete a market group if customers or products are in the market group.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available if you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Show Data	Click this button to display market groups on the Inquiry tab. This button is only available if the Inquiry tab is displayed.
First	Click this button to display the first market group. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous market group. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Next	Click this button to display the next market group. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Last	Click this button to display the last market group. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Related Customer	Click this button to display Related Customers, which allows you to view customers in the selected market group/segment. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.
Related Products	Click this button to display Related Products, which allows you to view products in the selected market group/segment. This button is only available if the Main tab is displayed.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Market Group	Enter a market group, or click the Lookup button to select an existing market group.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Description	Enter a description of the market group.
Market Segment	Enter a market segment in the market group.
Add	Click this button to add the market segment entered in the Market Segment field to the selected market group.
Remove	Click this button to remove the market segment selected in the Market Segments grid from the selected market group. Note You cannot remove a market segment if customers or products are in the market segment.
Display Alphabetically	Select this check box to display market segments in the market group in alphabetical order. This check box is selected by default.
Market Segments	This grid displays market segments in the selected market group.
	Click this button to move the selected market segment up in the Market Segments grid. This button is only enabled if the Display Alphabetically check box is cleared.
	Click this button to move the selected market segment down in the Market Segments grid. This button is only enabled if the Display Alphabetically check box is cleared.

Inquiry Tab Fields and Buttons

Note This tab is disabled if you are creating, editing, or deleting a market group.

Field or Button	Description
Market Groups	This grid displays market group information after you click the Show Data button in the ribbon. Double-click a market group to select it and display information for it on the Main tab.
