Purpose

Receive returned products.

Overview

Use Return Order Receiving Entry to select a return order to receive and begin receiving products that have been returned by a customer.

Starting the Return Order Receiving Process

To start the return order receiving process:

  1. Enter the location prefix or name of the location to which you are receiving product in the Shipping Location Prefix or Name field.

  2. If you want to view return orders for a specific customer, clear the All Customers check box, and enter the customer code or name in the Customer Code or Name field.

  3. Click the Show Data button in the ribbon.

  4. Select a return order in the Return Orders grid.

  5. Click the Receive button in the ribbon. The Return Order Receipt window appears, and allows you to continue the return order receiving process.

Note If you are using the express return order receipt process, Return Order Receipt does not appear. Instead, the return order receipt is created automatically and you continue to the next step of the process.

Updating a Completed Return Order Receipt

To update a completed return order receipt:

  1. Enter the location prefix or name of the location to which you are receiving product in the Shipping Location Prefix or Name field.

  2. If you want to view return orders for a specific customer, clear the All Customers check box, and enter the customer code or name in the Customer Code or Name field.

  3. Click the Show Data button in the ribbon.

  4. Select the Completed radio button.

  5. Select a return order in the Return Orders grid.

  6. Click the Update button in the ribbon. The Return Order Receipt appears, and allows you to update the return order receipt.

Note If you are using the express return order receipt process, Return Order Receipt does not appear. Instead, the return order receipt is created automatically and you continue to the next step of the process.

Button

Description

Exit

Click this button to close the Return Order Receiving Entry window.

Update

Click this button to display Return Order Receipt, which allows you to update the receiving entry. This button is only available if you select the Completed radio button.

Note After a return order receipt is confirmed in Return Order Receipt Confirm, it can no longer be updated.

Show Data

Click this button to refresh data in the Return Orders grid based on the selected criteria.

Receive

If the Express Receipt check box is cleared, click this button to display Return Order Receipt, which allows you to receive the selected return order. This button is only available if you select the Pending radio button.

If the Express Receipt check box is selected, click this button to display Return Order Receipt Confirm, which allows you to confirm a return order receipt.

Print

Click this button to display Return Receipt Print, which allows you to output a return receipt. This button is only available if you select the Completed radio button.

Order Inquiry

Click this button to display Order Edit, which allows you to view and update information for the selected order.

Note If you are not authorized to use Order Edit, the Order Entry window appears instead, and allows you to view and update information for the selected order. If you are not authorized to use Order Edit or Order Entry, the Order Inquiry window appears instead, and allows you to view order information for the selected order.

Description

Shipping Location Prefix

Enter the location prefix of the shipping location for return orders you want to display, or click the Lookup buttons to select the location prefix.

Name (Shipping Location)

Enter the location name of the shipping location for return orders you want to display, or click the Lookup button to select the location name.

All Customers

Select this check box to display return orders for all customers. This check box is selected by default.

Customer Code

Enter a customer code for which to display return orders, or click the Lookup button to select a customer code.

Name (Customer)

Enter a customer name for which to display return orders, or click the Lookup button to select a customer name.

Express Receipt

Select this check box to use the express return receipt process. This check box is only enabled if you select the Use Express Return Receipt check box on the Effect on Inventory tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance.

Receipt and Confirmation

This check box is selected by default if you select the Use Express Return Receipt check box on the Effect on Inventory tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance to indicate that the first step of the express return receipt process is to enter the receipt and confirm it. If that check box is cleared, than this check box is also cleared.

Price/Charges Review

Select this check box to review prices and charges after confirming an express return receipt. If you select this check box, Return Order Credit Memo Authorize will open automatically. This check box is only enabled if you select the Use Express Return Receipt check box on the Effect on Inventory tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance.

Credit Memo Print

Select this check box to print a credit memo as part of the express return receipt process. If you select this check box, Print Credit Memo will open automatically. This check box is only enabled if you select the Use Express Return Receipt check box on the Effect on Inventory tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance.

Description

Return Orders

This grid displays return order information. Select an order that you want to receive, and then click the Receive button in the ribbon.

Pending/Completed

Select whether to display pending or completed return orders in the Return Orders grid. Pending orders are orders that have not been received or orders that have been partially received. After the expected quantity received equals the receipted quantity, the order is no longer pending.

Position to Order #

Enter the order number of a return order you want to select in the Return Orders grid.
