Purpose

Set up and maintain warehouse areas.

Overview

Use Warehouse Area Maintenance to define areas in a warehouse in which users work. By dividing a warehouse into warehouse areas, you can improve efficiency, allowing users to perform tasks in a specific area. After you set up warehouse areas, you can assign specific bins to the areas in Warehouse Area Bin Maintenance, and you can specify the areas for tasks performed by warehouse users and teams in Warehouse Team Task Type Maintenance and Warehouse User Task Type Maintenance.

NOTE Warehouse areas cannot be used to set up restrictions for Wireless Warehouse picking tasks.

Creating Warehouse Areas

To create a warehouse area:

Click the New button in the ribbon.
Enter a name for the area in the Warehouse Area field.
Enter the warehouse location in which the warehouse area exists in the Location fields.
Enter the zone in which the warehouse area exists in the Zone field.
Enter a description of the warehouse area in the Description field.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The warehouse area is created.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Warehouse Area Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new warehouse area.
Update	Click this button to update the selected warehouse area.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected warehouse area.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first warehouse area.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous warehouse area.
Next	Click this button to display the next warehouse area.
Last	Click this button to display the last warehouse area.

Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Warehouse Area	Enter a warehouse area name, or click the Lookup button to select an existing warehouse area name.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Location	Enter the location prefix or name in which the warehouse area exists, or click one of the Lookup buttons to select a location prefix or name.
Zone	Enter the zone in which the warehouse area exists, or click the Lookup button to select a zone.
Description	Enter a brief description of the warehouse area.
