Menu Path: Product Lifecycle Management Module Setup Product Project Maintenance
Set up product projects for product lifecycle management.
Use Product Project Maintenance to create, edit, and delete product projects. You can set up product projects to track development of new products, product lines, styles, product categories, and product subcategories. Each product project is a workflow for which tasks can be assigned.
Example You want to track the development of a new product called product X. You can create a product project for the development workflow.
After you create a product project, you can launch the workflow for it, and optionally begin data entry for it.
To create a new product project:
Click the New button in the ribbon.
If a product project code is not automatically entered in the Project Code field or you are allowed to override the automatically generated code, enter a code for the product project.
Enter a name for the product project in the Project Name field.
Click the Lookup button to the right of the Type field and select the type of project. For example, if the project is to track development of a new product, select Product.
Enter a description of the product project in the Description field.
Select the status of the product project.

Click the OK button in the ribbon. The product project is created.
If you want to launch a workflow for the product project, enter a workflow definition in the Workflow Definition Code field, and then click the Launch Workflow Only button in the ribbon. If you want to launch the workflow and begin data entry immediately, click the Launch Workflow and Begin Data Entry button instead of the Launch Workflow Only button.
