Set up and maintain automatic additional charges that control when to automatically add additional charges to a purchase order.
Use Purchase Automatic Additional Charge Maintenance to create, edit, and delete purchase automatic additional charges, which are additional charges that are automatically applied to purchase orders that meet a set of selected criteria.
Only one purchase automatic additional charge can be added to a purchase order or line item per charge type. If purchase automatic additional charges are set up for the same charge type and different filter combinations, and a purchase order matches multiple filter combinations, only the most specific automatic additional charge is added to the order. NOTE When a purchase order is edited, purchase automatic additional charges may be updated.
This window is split into two sections. The top section is used to select the type of record being created, updated, or deleted. The bottom section is used to view, enter, or update information for that record. You must first make a selection in the top section before you can enter or update information in the bottom section.
Example A supplier charges a restocking fee for all orders. To automatically add the restocking fee to all return orders, you can create an automatic additional charge associated with the purchase class you use for return orders.

To create a purchase automatic additional charge:
Click the New button in the ribbon.
Select the Order Charge radio button if you want the charge added to purchase orders, or select the Item Charge radio button if you want the charge added to purchase order line items.
Select filter criteria to determine the purchase orders that will include the automatic additional charge.
Enter the purchase additional charge type in the Charge Type field.
Select the currency for the automatic additional charge.
Select an amount type to indicate how the charge is calculated.
Enter the details of how you want the additional charge to be calculated and added.
Click the Enter Charge button.
If necessary, repeat steps 4-8 for automatic additional charges for the filter criteria selected in step 3.
Click the OK button in the ribbon. The purchase automatic additional charge is created.
