Purpose

View work orders for a location.

Overview

Use Work Order Management to display work order information for a specific location and work order status (or all statuses).

Example You can use Work Order Management to view all open work orders for a specific location.

Field or Button

Description

Location

Enter a location prefix or name for which to display work orders, or click one of the Lookup buttons to select a location prefix or name. These fields default to the default location entered for your user ID in User Extended Options.

Status

Select one of the following options to select the statuses for which to display work orders:

  • All - Display work orders of all statuses.

  • Open - Display all work orders that are not voided or completed.

  • Single - Display work orders for a single status specified in the WO Status field.

WO Status

Click the Lookup button to select a work order status for which to display work orders. This Lookup button is only enabled if you select the Single radio button. You can select one of the following statuses:

  • Completed - The work order was fully completed. This is the final stage of a work order. After the finished goods are built, and successfully confirmed in Work Order Confirm, the status changes from Issued to Completed. The work order can now be posted in Work Order Post.

  • Error - The work order has invalid accounts. For information on fixing the accounts, see Correcting Invalid General Ledger Accounts.

  • Hold - The work order was placed on manual hold (by clicking the Hold button in the ribbon in Work Order Maintenance) or is on cost variance hold.

  • In Process - Inventory for the material issues is adjusted.

  • Issued - All of the components for the work order were issued (except for backflushed components).

  • Material Confirmed - Material issues for the work order were confirmed.

  • Open - The work order was created, but material has not been issued for it. The work order may have backordered components and still have this status.

  • Partially Completed - The work order was partially completed. A work order may be in this status if a component product is backordered.

  • Partially Issued - Some of the components for the work order were issued.

  • Voided - The work order was voided.

Work Orders

This grid displays work order information for the selected location and status(es). This grid includes the following columns:

  • Work Order # - This column displays each work order number.

  • Status - This column displays the status of each work order. Displayed work order statuses include Planning, Hold, Issued, Partially Completed, Completed, and Voided.

  • Hold Reason - This column displays the reason each work order is on hold (for work orders that are on hold).

  • Work Order Description - This column displays the description of each work order.

  • Goods Product Code - This column displays the finished good product’s code for each work order.

  • Goods Product Name - This column displays the finished good product’s name for each work order.

  • U/M - This column displays the unit of measure of the finished good for each work order.

  • Qty Ordered - This column displays the quantity ordered of the finished good for each work order.

  • Quantity Completed - This column displays the quantity that has been completed for each work order; confirmed in Work Order Confirm.

  • Quantity to Complete - This column displays the quantity remaining to be completed for each work order. This column displays the difference between quantities in the Qty Ordered and Quantity Completed columns.

  • Created Date - This column displays the created date for each work order.

  • Expected Finish Date - This column displays the expected date for each work order.

  • Currency - This column displays the currency for the cost of each work order.

  • Item Cost - This column displays the total component product cost for each work order.

  • Cost Category Total - This column displays the total cost of cost categories for each work order.

  • Total WO Cost - This column displays the sum of component product and cost category costs for each work order.

Double-click a work order to display detailed information for the work order in Work Order Maintenance.

NOTE If you are not authorized to use Work Order Maintenance, Work Order Inquiry appears instead, and allows you to view work order information.

Note This grid is cached to improve performance. You cannot sort, filter, group, graph, or summarize data in this grid.
