Purpose

Define price regions.

Overview

Use Price Region Maintenance to create price regions (a grouping of locations used solely for pricing purposes).

Note The price region All is automatically available even if you do not use price regions. You cannot edit or delete the All price region.

Price regions are required when creating price matrix records in Price Book Price Maintenance, Customer Price Maintenance, Product Price Maintenance and Price Book/Product Profit Price Maintenance. For more information, see Price Logic FAQ.

A price region is associated with a location on the General tab in Location Maintenance. Also, if using price regions, indicate on the Cost/Pricing tab in Customer Service Control Maintenance whether to use sales locations or shipping locations for price regions, and the price region priority when selecting price records.

Example A price region called New England is used to define price matrix records for only the New England warehouse location.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Price Region Maintenance window.
New	Click this button to create a new price region.
Update	Click this button to edit the selected price region.
Delete	Click this button to delete the selected price region.
OK	Click this button to accept an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
Cancel	Click this button to cancel an action. This button is only available after you click the New, Update, or Delete button in the ribbon.
First	Click this button to display the first price region.
Prev	Click this button to display the previous price region.
Next	Click this button to display the next price region.
Last	Click this button to display the last price region.

Field or Button

Description

Price Region

Enter a price region code, or click the Lookup button to select an existing price region code.

Note If you are creating a new price region without specifying a country, enter a unique price region code. You can create the same price region for multiple countries.

Country

Enter a country for the price region, or click the Lookup button to select a country. For information on setting up countries, see Country Maintenance.

Note This field is required if you select the VAT Inclusive Pricing Allowed check box.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Short Description	Enter a short description for the price region.
VAT Inclusive Pricing Allowed	Select this check box to allow users to enter prices that include VAT in price matrices for the price region. If you select this check box, you must enter a country for the price region.
Detailed Description	Enter a long description for the price region.
