Work Order Confirm Entry

To use Work Order Confirm Entry, click the Confirm or Update button in the ribbon in Work Order Confirm.

Purpose

Overview

Use Work Order Confirm Entry to confirm product quantities and work times after components have been built into manufactured goods. You can also specify scrap quantities (if necessary). If you had leftover unused components, you can also specify quantities returned to a bin.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button

Description

OK

Click this button to confirm the quantities and work times for the selected work order or operation. If you click this button and are confirming a backflushed component that has insufficient inventory, a warning message appears and asks you whether you want to continue.

Cancel

Click this button to cancel confirmation of product quantities and work times.

As Is

Click this button if all quantities and work times were exactly as expected for the work order or operation. When you click this button, the following occurs:

  • In the Operations grid, the quantities in the Qty Selected column are set equal to the quantities in the Recommended Qty column.

  • In the Components grid, the quantities in the Qty Used column are set equal to the quantities in the Qty Issued column for all components.

  • In the Costs grid, the times in the Actual Time column are set equal to the times in the Expected Time column for all costs.

  • In the Confirmed Qty field, the confirmed quantity is set equal to the quantity in the Rec. Qty field.

  • The Completed check box is selected to indicate the work order or operation is completed.

After you click this button, you can still make manual adjustments to the quantities and work times.

Select Items

Click this button to display Material Confirm, which allows you to manually confirm issued materials for an express work order or a configuration kit work order. Use this button to manually confirm specific lots used for a work order. This button is only available for express work orders and configuration kit work orders.

Update Operation Quantities

Click this button to enter the quantity entered in the Confirmed Qty field in the Qty Selected column in the Operations grid. When you click this button, the Completed check box is also selected to indicate the work order or operation is completed.

Note If the quantity entered in the Confirmed Qty field is greater than the quantity in the Recommended Qty column in the Operations grid, the quantity in the Recommended Qty column is entered in the Qty Selected column.

Button

Description

Work Order #

This field displays the work order number for which you are confirming quantities and work times.

Product

These fields display the product code and name of the product manufactured for the work order.

Adjust Inventory

Select this check box to adjust inventory for the work order or operation when you click the OK button in the ribbon. This check box is selected by default if the Automatically Adjust Goods check box is selected for the location in Location Maintenance.

Completed

Select this check box to mark the work order as completed when you click the OK button in the ribbon.

Note If you are confirming a single operation and there are other operations for the work order that have not been confirmed, you cannot mark the work order complete.

Confirmed Qty

Enter the quantity of goods manufactured for the work order in the displayed unit of measure. If you click the As Is button in the ribbon, this quantity is entered automatically. If necessary, click the Lookup button to change the unit of measure.

Note This quantity can only be greater than the ordered quantity on the work order if the bill of material is set up to allow overage.

Rec. Qty

This field displays the recommended quantity and unit of measure of manufactured goods for the work order.

Conf. Date

Enter the date on which you are confirming the work order quantities and work times. This defaults to today's date.

Bin

Enter the bin into which the manufactured goods are placed. This defaults to the primary work order bin for the work center of the last operation in the work order.

Note If you are confirming a work order for a configuration kit, you cannot enter a bin that is marked as not available.

Lot

Enter the lot of the manufactured goods, or click the Lookup button to select the lot. This field is only available if the manufactured goods are tracked by lot.

Serial

Enter the serial number of the manufactured goods. This field is only available if the manufactured goods are tracked by serial number.

Exp. Date

Enter the expiration date of the manufactured goods, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only available if the manufactured goods are tracked by lot.

WMS Export Method

Click the Lookup button to select one of the following WMS export method options:

  • API - Do not export work order confirmation data to a WMS. The work order confirmation data will be exported to a WMS using an API.

  • No - Do not export work order confirmation data to a WMS.

  • WMS - Export work order confirmation data to a WMS using Apprise.

This field is only available if the location is set up to use an external WMS, and if you are allowed to change the export method for work order confirmations.

Operations

This grid displays operations for which you are confirming quantities. Enter the quantity of manufactured goods for which work was completed in the Qty Selected column.

Components

This grid displays quantities for components used for the work order.

Note The Qty Available column displays quantity available for components without including inventory held for backorders. As a result, quantities in this column may not match the available quantities displayed in Inventory Matrix Inquiry.

Enter the actual components used for the work order in the Qty Used column and any scrap quantities in the Scrap column.

Note If the total component quantity used, scrapped, and returned to inventory is greater than the original quantity for the material issue, the Material Issue window appears, and allows you to manually enter additional material issue quantities.

Qty

Enter the quantity of the selected component returned to inventory (if there was extra unused materials).

Bin

Enter a bin to which you are returning unused components to inventory, or click the Lookup button to select a bin.

Enter

Click this button to enter a quantity returned to a specific bin.

Remove

Click this button to remove the returned quantity from the Return to Inventory grid.

Lot

Enter the lot of the component being returned to inventory, or click the Lookup button to select the lot. This field is only available if the component is tracked by lot.

Exp Date

Enter the expiration date of the component being returned to inventory, or click the drop-down arrow to select a date. This field is only available if the component is tracked by lot.

Return to Inventory

This grid displays the quantity and bin of components returned to inventory.

Note If the total component quantity used, scrapped, and returned to inventory is greater than the original quantity for the material issue, the Material Issue window appears, and allows you to manually enter additional material issue quantities.
