Journal Detail for Entry

To use Journal Detail for Entry, perform one of the following:

Select a journal entry on the Results tab in Journal Entry Inquiry, and then click the Transaction Detail button in the ribbon.

Note The origin of the journal entry must be general ledger or purchasing.

Double-click a journal entry or transaction in Manual Reversing Journal Entry, Journal Entry Post, Account Detail Inquiry, Post Report, or Batch Inquiry.
Select a journal entry in Post Inquiry, and then click the Transaction Detail button in the ribbon.
Select a journal entry or transaction in Account Detail Inquiry, and then click the down arrow button.
Select a journal entry in a consolidation ledger in Account Detail Inquiry, and then click the Source Transaction Detail button in the ribbon.
Click the A/P Journal Entry Detail button in the ribbon in Voucher Audit Detail.
Select a journal entry, and then click the View Journal Entry Detail button in the ribbon in Exclude Voucher Payments from Posting.

Purpose

View journal entry account detail information.

Overview

Use Journal Detail for Entry to view general ledger account details for selected journal entries. For each general ledger account, the following information can be displayed:

General ledger account number
Account type
General ledger account description
Debits
Credits

You can also view profitability information.

Ribbon Home Tab Buttons

Button	Description
Exit	Click this button to close the Journal Detail for Entry window.
Journal Entry Detail	Click this button to display Journal Entry Detail, which displays detail information for the selected journal entry.

Main Tab Fields and Buttons

Field or Button	Description
Display Currency	This field displays the currency for monetary values displayed in the Accounts grid.
Ledger ID	This field displays the ledger ID for the selected journal entry. Note This field is only available if at least one consolidation ledger is set up.
Accounts	This grid displays detailed information for each account affected by the selected journal entry.
Profit Type	Select whether to display customer, product, or supplier profitability information.
Profitability	This grid displays profitability for the transaction and selected profit type.
