Purpose

View availability for fixed kits.

Overview

Use Kit Inquiry to determine the availability of fixed kits and fixed kit components. The inquiry provides detailed inventory information for fixed kits, and is similar to Inventory Matrix Inquiry.

Using the Inquiry

To use Kit Inquiry:

  1. Enter the product code or name for a fixed kit in the Product Code or Product Name field. Inventory quantities for the kit appear in the upper (Inventory) grid, and inventory quantities for the kit components appear in the lower (Component Inventory) grid.

  2. If you want to change the locations for which to display inventory information in the Component Inventory grid, select or clear the check box for locations in the Display column in the Inventory grid.

  3. To view detailed information related to an inventory quantity in the Component Inventory grid (except for in the Available and Not Available columns), double-click the quantity in the grid.

Description

Product Code

Enter the product code for a fixed kit, or click the Lookup button to select a product code.

Product Name

Enter the product name for a fixed kit, or click the Lookup button to select a product name.

Product Prompting

Click this button to display Product Prompting, which allows you to select a fixed kit product by product element values.

Display U/M

This field displays the display unit of measure for the selected kit.

Inventory

This grid displays inventory quantities for the selected fixed kit. This grid includes the following columns:

  • Display - Select the check box in this grid column for a location to display component information for the location in the Component Inventory grid. By default, the check box in this column is selected for your default shipping location. If you accessed Kit Inquiry from Inventory Matrix Inquiry, the check box in this column is selected for the location that was selected in Inventory Matrix Inquiry.

  • Prefix - This column displays location prefixes for the selected kit.

  • Location Name - This column displays location names for the selected kit.

  • Qty Available - This column displays the quantity available for the selected kit. This quantity is limited by the availability of the kit's components.

  • Qty Allocated - This column displays the quantity allocated for the selected kit. This quantity is limited by the availability of the kit's components.

  • Qty On Order - This column displays the quantity on order for the selected kit. This quantity is limited by the availability of the kit's components.

  • Qty Not Available - This column displays the quantity not available for the selected kit. This quantity is limited by the availability of the kit's components.

  • Qty On Hand - This column displays the quantity on hand for the selected kit. This quantity is limited by the availability of the kit's components.

  • Qty Pending - This column displays the pending quantity for the selected kit. This quantity is limited by the availability of the kit's components.

  • Qty Backordered - This column displays the quantity on backorder for the selected kit. This quantity is limited by the availability of the kit's components.

Component Inventory

This grid displays inventory quantities for the components of the selected kit for the locations selected in the Inventory grid. Double-click a component/location to display Inventory Matrix Inquiry, which allows you to view bin-level inventory for the component.

This grid includes the following columns:

  • Component - This column displays the product code for each component of the kit.

  • Qty - This column displays the quantity of each component required to build the kit.

  • Prefix - This column displays the location prefix for each component.

  • Location Name - This column displays the location name for each component.

  • Allocated - This column displays the quantity allocated for each component, which is the sum of the quantity allocated to orders and reservations. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Allocated and In Use Product Inquiry, which allows you to view allocated and in-use quantities for products.

  • Future - This column displays the quantity on customer orders to be allocated in the future for each component. For more information, see allocation days. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product / Style Order Inquiry, which allows you to view open and closed orders for a product and/or style.

  • Not Available - This column displays the quantity in bins for each component that has been marked as not available (can only specify at the bin level in Bin Maintenance).

  • On Hand - This column displays the current quantity on hand for each component. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Inventory Transaction Detail, which allows you to view transactions for products.

  • On Order - This column displays the quantity ordered on purchase orders, work orders and transfer orders for each component, except special orders and drop-ship orders. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Scheduled Delivery Dates, which allows you to view delivery date information for products.

  • Pending - This column displays the sum of all open sales order quantities (regardless of allocated, future, or backordered), quantity reserved, and the quantity needed for open work orders for each component. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product / Style Order Inquiry, which allows you to view open and closed orders for a product and/or style.

  • Backordered - This column displays the quantity backordered on customer orders for each component (Pending - Allocated - Future). Double-click a quantity in this column to display Backorder Schedule, which allows you to view backorders for products.

  • Back Ord. Held - The check box in this column is selected for a component if the Hold Inventory for Backorders check box is selected for the product/location on the Warehouse tab in Product Location Maintenance.

  • On Drop Ship - The check box in this column is selected for a component if there are drop-ship quantities for the component.

  • On Direct Ship - The check box in this column is selected for a component if there are direct-ship quantities associated with blanket purchase orders for the component.

  • On Special Order - The check box in this column is selected for a component if there are special order quantities for the component.

  • PO Unreleased Qty - This column displays the unreleased quantity for blanket purchase orders for each component. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product Supplier Purchase Order Inquiry, which allows you to view purchase orders by product and supplier.

  • PO Released Qty - This column displays the released quantity for blanket purchase orders for each component. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product Supplier Purchase Order Inquiry, which allows you to view purchase orders by product and supplier.

  • PO Open Qty - This column displays the quantity not yet received for blanket purchase orders for each component. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product Supplier Purchase Order Inquiry, which allows you to view purchase orders by product and supplier.

  • Available - This column displays the quantity available to be allocated to sales orders or work orders for each component. There are two calculations depending on whether you select to hold inventory for backorders in Product Location Maintenance. If you are holding inventory for backorders, then this is: On Hand - Pending + Future - Not Available + MFG Alloc. If not holding inventory for backorders, then this is: On Hand - Allocated - Not Available + MFG Alloc

  • In Transit - This column displays the quantity in transit on a ship-confirmed transfer order from another location for each component. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Scheduled Delivery Dates, which allows you to view delivery date information for products.

  • MFG Only - This column displays the quantity in bins that have been marked as holding raw materials only (can only specify at the bin level in Bin Maintenance) for each component. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Build Inquiry, which allows you to view build information for products.

  • MFG Alloc - This column is not currently used.  Double-click a quantity in this column to display Build Inquiry, which allows you to view build information for products.

  • WO Pending - This column displays the quantity of each component at the location on issued work orders that are not yet completed. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Work Order Component Inquiry, which allows you to view work orders and bills of material for components.

  • WO Alloc - This column displays the quantity of the component at the location on issued work orders that is allocated (when the work order is created and allocated). When the work order is printed, it allocates further to the bin level. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Work Order Component Inquiry, which allows you to view work orders and bills of material for components.

  • List Price 1-4 - These columns display the list prices of each component. The labels for these columns are set up in Customer Service Control Maintenance. Double-click a quantity in these columns to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Avg Cost - This column displays the average cost for each component. For more information, see cost basis. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Last Cost - This column displays the last cost for each component. For more information, see cost basis. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Std Cost - This column displays the standard cost for each component. For more information, see cost basis. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Bdn Cost - This column displays the burden cost for each component. For more information, see cost basis. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Gross Unit Wt. - This column displays the gross unit weight for each component. Double-click a weight in this column to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Net Unit Wt. - This column displays the net unit weight for each component. Double-click a weight in this column to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Weight U/M - This column displays the weight unit of measure for each component. Double-click a weight unit of measure in this column to display Product Location Maintenance or Product Location Inquiry, which allows you to view product information.

  • Pending Invoice - This column displays the quantity of each component for which inventory has been adjusted, but for which an invoice has not yet been created. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product / Style Order Inquiry, which allows you to view open and closed orders for a product and/or style.

  • EDI Hold - This column displays the quantity of each component for EDI orders that are on hold. Double-click a quantity in this column to display Product / Style Order Inquiry, which allows you to view open and closed orders for a product and/or style.

  • Display Unit of Measure - This column displays the display unit of measure for each component.
